Catalan technology start-ups got in 2021 an investment record of 1,325 million

Glovo, Wallapop and TravelPerk got over 100 million in transactions. The sector has quadrupled the money raised in 2020, in a post-virus context .

2021 was a year of strong recovery in investment for Catalan start-ups. After two years of decline, it reached a record figure of 1,479 million euros through 207 rounds, according to data presented on Monday by Acció, Catalan agency for competitiveness. The results more than triple the 427 million of the previous year and improves by 65% ​​that of 2018, the previous maximum. "2021 was a very positive year at European level, our sector has entered an upward and mature phase. Catalonia and Barcelona has consolidated at the front positions ", analyzes Jordi Aguasca, director of technological transformation and disruption of Acció.
